
Tom Clark passed away on October 27, 2016 after being in the care of the nurse/angels at the Medical ICU at St. Vincent’s Hospital. Tom is survived by his wife Dixie, sons Christian and Quincy, grandchildren Walter, Lydia. His sisters Linda, brother in law Bruce Grosvenor, Jennie, brother in law Barney O’Connor and Connie, brother in law Marty Merkel.
Tom attended Christ the King elementary, and Broad Ripple High School where he was a member of the 1963 Semi-State Finalist in basketball. After graduation, Tom entered Marian College where he played basketball as well and graduated with a BA in Mathematics and Physics. Upon completion of his studies at Marian, Tom joined IBM as a sales representative. He held this position within the company for almost 40 years enjoying his relationships with clients and co-workers almost as much as he enjoyed the job itself.
Tom was a lifelong member of the Knights of Columbus following in his father’s legacy who happened to be one of the charter members of the local north side chapter. Tom was a tireless advocate for the Knights of Columbus and held many positions within the organization. He regularly volunteered for committees, fundraisers and special events. Tom was also a regular usher at Christ the King Catholic Church where he had been a member for his entire life. Other volunteer activities included St. Vincent de Paul, tutoring math to public school students and attending Realty Board meetings at the KofC.
Recently, Tom was a member of the White River Yacht Club. In retirement, Tom had moved to the Sandy Point community on the banks of the White River and enjoyed taking leisurely boat rides down the river with family and friends. His most recent passion involved his two grandchildren who were the light of his life. He frequently attended any school and sports activities that the children were involved with. Tom was a lifelong St. Louis Cardinals fan and he, Dixie spent their honeymoon attending games and watching Bob Gibson play. Tom was also a fan of the Purdue Boilermakers, Indianapolis Colts and the Indy 500. In his leisure time, he regularly played golf with friends on Tuesday nights at Douglas Golf Club.
There will be a memorial service Saturday October 29 at 11am at Christ the King Church followed by a reception from 12-4 at the Northside Knights of Columbus. In lieu of flowers please make donations to either the Christ the King Parish or the St.Vincent de Paul Society.
